EMPIRE Systems' Roof Top Package provides a single, integrated package for the exhaust and make-up air functions for commercial kitchen applications. The available exhaust and make-up air combinations are pre-engineered for maximum efficiency and performance.

THE GREASETRAP Centrifugal Upblast Exhaust Fan

The upblast GREASETRAP is ideal for use in commercial kitchens over grilles, charcoal broilers, deep fat fryers, steam tables, ranges, dishwashers and other appliances, both gas fired and electric. Greasetraps provide a sure, steady exhaust and are constructed to operate dependably under severe conditions imposed by the exhaust system service.

Sturdy construction features include: a durable spun aluminum housing with rolled exterior edges, prewired motors protected and out of the airstream, a NEMA waterproof disconnect switch, built-in electrical conduit and an external grease drain. GREASETRAP units comply with NFPA 96 and are UL 762 Listed for removal of cooking vapors. The fans are Certified by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).

MAKE-UP AIR UNIT

The EMPIRE Systems' Make-Up Air Unit is engineered and designed for restaurant ventilation systems. Outstanding features of this compact and efficient unit include its galvanized steel construction, heavy duty motor mount and external service disconnect switch. Outside air is drawn into the unit through removable, washable aluminum mesh filters shipped with the product. A heavy duty, UL Recognized motor drives the blower.

The wide variety of CFM ranges offer adaptability to almost any commercial kitchen ventilation application.

SPECIFICATIONS

The EMPIRE Systems Roof Top Package is an exhaust and make-up air unit integrated into a single package. The exhaust fan features a durable aluminum housing with rolled exterior edges. The curb and rail are constructed of aluminized metal and are continuously welded to assure watertightness and durability. The make-up air unit and trunkline are constructed of galvanized metal for corrosion resistance and are assembled with heavy duty fasteners. The EMPIRE Systems Roof Top Package is engineered to minimize field installation requirements. A single, common roof opening is all that is required for installation of the Roof Top Package unit, the exhaust and make-up air ducts, and all electrical drops.

EXHAUST: The exhaust air side of the package utilizes a GREASETRAP design, centrifugal, upblast exhaust fan. The fan is specifically engineered to perform physically and functionally with the entire package. An open drip-proof motor, adjustable cast iron motor pulleys and heavy duty belt(s) are standard on all units. Other features include prewired motors which are protected and out of the airstream, a NEMA weatherproof disconnect switch, built in electrical conduit and an external grease drain. The fan is UL 762 Listed for removal of cooking vapors. Each is certified by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).

MAKE-UP AIR: The make-up air side of the package is UL Listed and utilizes a heavy duty squirrel cage, forward curved, downblast blower with ball bearings. The fan is driven by a UL Recognized open drip-proof motor sized for the required CFM delivery at specified static pressures and is equipped with an adjustable motor pulley and heavy duty belt(s). The motor is mounted on an easily adjustable, heavy duty motor platform. The unit housing is constructed of galvanized metal for corrosion resistance and is assembled with heavy duty fasteners.

WIRING: The entire Roof Top Package is factory prewired with input power connections for the exhaust and make-up air units, thus precluding the necessity of pitch pockets. Wiring to the motors is accomplished with a length of flexible conduit. Optional motor starters, if required, can be installed in the EMPIRE Systems' custom wiring package mounted in the ventilation hood's utility cabinet. Single phase motors are available in 115/208-230 voltages and have built-in automatic reset thermal overloads (1/3 to 1-1/2 HP motors). Three phase motors are available in 208-230/460 volts. Optional 2-speed and 50 Hertz motors are available.

TRUNKLINE: The make-up air trunkline is constructed of galvanized metal for corrosion resistance and is assembled with heavy duty fasteners. It is equipped with 1" washable, removable mesh filters angled downward to prevent water entry. Upon final assembly of the package, the make-up air inlet and exhaust air outlet are separated by a minimum of 10 feet to meet code requirements.

CURB AND RAIL: A single curb is properly sized for the combination exhaust and make-up air unit. An equipment rail is likewise properly sized to support the make-up air trunkline. Pitched or flat curbs and rails are available for various roof designs.
