SPECIFICATIONS:
EMPIRE Systems, Inc. MAKE-UP AIR UNITS ARE LISTED BY UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES.
The components are as follows:

  • HOUSING: Fabricated of galvanized metal and assembled with heavy duty fasteners for durability. Designed to slip over and counter flash to an optional curb.
  • FILTRATION: Unit designed with easily removable and washable UL Listed Class 2 aluminum mesh filters. Filter media is composed of layers of slit and expanded aluminum, varying in pattern to obtain maximum depth loading.
  • BLOWER: Heavy duty squirrel cage, forward curved, downblast blower with sealed ball bearings. Blower wheel has an exclusive center disc construction for improved safety. Shafts are finely polished for quiet, trouble free operation and are coated with a corrosion resistant material. Units are equipped with cast iron pulleys and heavy duty belts.
  • MOTORS: UL Recognized motors are an open drip-proof design. Motors are sized for required CFM delivery and static pressure. Automatic reset/thermal overload protection on single phase motors (1/3 to 1-1/2 HP) and on three phase motors if a pre-wire assembly is included in the specifications. A heavy duty, easily adjustable motor mount bracket is attached to the blower housing by means of a nut and bolt assembly. It is utilized to avoid motor contact with the housing during shipment and operation, thus precluding potential housing damage and excessive vibration.
  • WIRING: Unit is factory pre-wired with the input power connection dropping through the bottom of the unit, eliminating pitch pocket requirements. Wiring for the fan motor is run through an optional service disconnect switch and connected to the motor through flexible conduit. Optional motor starters, if required, can be installed in the EMPIRE Systems, Inc. custom wiring package, mounted in the EMPIRE Systems, Inc. hood's utility cabinet. Field wiring is required from the pre-wired controls to the fan.
  • CURB: An optional curb is available either pitched or flat, depending on the roof design.
